    This book was written with the intention of pursuing<\/p>\n

    Dr. Stephen Goldberg\u2019s vision to make learning ridicu-<\/p>\n

    lously simple. The reader will quickly acquire basic<\/p>\n

    mon orthopedic conditions encountered in the emergency<\/p>\n

    everyone should know about. For example, the first<\/p>\n

    chapter addresses general concepts and principlesin the<\/p>\n

    diagnosis and management of common musculoskeletal<\/p>\n

    injuries; it describes orthopedic emergencies and rele-<\/p>\n

    vant clinical signs no one should miss. The subsequent<\/p>\n

    chapters address the upper and lower limbs, the axial<\/p>\n

    skeleton,systemic conditions affecting themusculoskele-<\/p>\n

    tal system, and common pediatric conditions. Each topic<\/p>\n

    is covered with regardsto the relevant anatomy,the clin-<\/p>\n

    ical approach,and specific problems not to be overlooked.<\/p>\n

    This book offersthe opportunity to consult anAtlas of<\/p>\n

    Orthopedics that is available as a free download from<\/p>\n

    www.medmaster.net. This will enable the reader to ac-<\/p>\n

    cessmany radiologic and orthopedic images andmovies.<\/p>\n

    For the writing of this book, many hours were spent<\/p>\n

    in the bookstores of Harvard Square in Boston. Young<\/p>\n

    students rolling in with their suitcases brought back<\/p>\n

    memories of medical school and the hard days of learn-<\/p>\n

    ing stuff as rapidly as possible.We also remember that<\/p>\n

    humoris by farthe best way tomake learning enjoyable<\/p>\n
