About the Author

Anna Belloni Fortina is an Associate Professor of Dermatology and Venereology at the Department of Medicine, at the University of Padova (UNIPD), Italy, and Past President of the Italian Society for Pediatric Dermatology. After graduating in medicine, she specialized in dermatology and venereology, and became the Regional Coordinator for Rare Pediatric Skin Diseases at the Veneto Regional Center. In 2006 she was nominated Head of the Veneto Regional Center for Pediatric Dermatology and Genodermatoses. After spending a year as an International Clinical Observer in Pediatric and Adolescent Dermatology at the Unit of Pediatric Dermatology, Rady Children’s Hospital, University of California - San Diego, USA, she was elected Head of the ERN Skin (European Reference Network) for Padova University Hospital, were her clinical and research interests led her to head the local mastocytosis registry for the European Competence Network on Mastocytosis, and to be appointed as Director of the Dermatology Residency Training Program. Francesca Caroppo is a physician with a post graduate Specialisation in Dermatology and Venereology. She is a clinical researcher in the University of Padova (Department of Medicine and Department of Women’s and Children’s Health) in the specific area of pediatric dermatology, working on a project about comorbidities in children with inflammatory chronic skin diseases. She is Treasurer of the Italian Society for Pediatric Dermatology.
