Review

This concise volume weds the science supporting psychopharmacology with the art of contemporary best practices. It displays a rich understanding of person-centered care with the realities of evidence-based treatment needs.
Dr. Ronald J. Mancoske, LCSWPsychopharmacology: Straight Talk on Mental Health Medications is without question the most helpful easy-to-understand, and relevant book I have read in my 35-year career as a mental health professional.
Mona Ochoa-Horshok, LPC

This edition is the must-have desk reference for all practitioners in the turbulent field of mental health. It is absolutely comprehensive and easy-to-understand at a glance for new practitioners and career-long practitioners alike.
Tricia Bacon Lofton, MSW, LCSW-BACS

Dr. Wegmann’s use of case examples, as well as concise charts outlining medications prescribed for mental health conditions, are helpful in understanding the prescribing choices of medical personnel.
Amy L. Rich, LCPC

What makes this book unique is the way psychotherapeutic techniques are integrated in with the psychopharmacological treatments, making it the #1 reference I can recommend for colleagues, from prescribers to therapists to counselors who are both practicing and in school.
Bonnie S. Dank, MS, MPH, RN, CRNP-A BC, CS-PMH-A BC

This realistic, applicable, and updated perspective is not only timely to an ever-changing world, but it also tackles the subtle nuisances of care and treatment considerations masterfully. This is a MUST-HAVE addition for every competent provider and the clients who want to understand and take control of their treatment.
Dr. Pamela Balentine, PhD, LPC, NCC, CFBA, CFMHE, BC-TMH, NBCCH, DMHC, CATP

The addition of concise tutorials on highly current areas – such as opiates, pain management, medical marijuana, and herbal supplements – fills a tremendous gap for practitioners struggling to find authoritative summaries and advice to answer consumer’s questions and improve their practice.
Eugene S. Morris, MSW
