Cancer surgery of the mouth and throat can involve major incision wounds, tracheotomy, or necessitate the breaking of bones. Recognizing the benefits and success of robotic surgery in other areas of medicine, the authors present its use in head and neck surgery, resulting in less surgery, less deformity, and faster rehabilitation.
